 World TeamTennis Summer League

June 15, 2010 - September 10, 2010

World TeamTennis is coming to the Coachella Valley this summer.  This is the recreational player version of Billy Jean King's popular professional league.  The league season will begin on June 15, and run through August, with the playoffs scheduled for early September.  All matches are played at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on weekday evenings.  Winning teams advance to compete in the National Qualifier to be played in Irvine, California, September 24-26,2010.

World TeamTennis is a coed recreational league for adults 18 years and over in a format that consists of 6 no-ad sets.  One set each of men's and women's doubles, followed by one set each of men's and women's singles and ending with two sets of mixed doubles.

Lefty Willner Interclub Tennis Tournament

Mark your calendars now for December 4, 2010, for the LeWITT Coachella Valley Lefty Willner Interclub Tennis Tournament.  The tennis clubs throughout the Coachella Valley have banded together to inaugurate this event.  This is an all-levels "Team Event" composed of ten players and a Teaching Pro from each Club.  It will be a fun-filled day of round-robin matches, a barbeque with all the trimmings, and an opportunity to meet new tennis buddies.  All proceeds will be donated to the Grassroots Junior tennis program, a proactive organization that brings the game we all love to less fortunate youngsters throughout the Coachella Valley.

Peter Burwash International Tennis Show

Every Saturday from Mid-December through April, from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm.  Billed as the "Harlem Globetrotters of Tennis", this show will tickle your funny bone as well as challenge your mind.  Followed by a fun tennis festival featuring a serve speed-check, a racquet demo court, and special prizes.  The PBI Tennis Show has performed in 99 countries worldwide for heads of state, charity events and many professional tournaments. Cost:   FREE

The Show is held at the JW Marriott, 74855 Country Club Dr., Palm Desert.

Indian Wells Tennis Garden Stadium Tour

Each Saturday, from October through May, at 12:00 noon, the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, the home of the 5th largest tennis tournament in the world, the BNP Paribas Open, offers free stadium tours.  Tours last approximately 45 minutes and are free to the public.  You are encouraged to bring your cameras.  Tours begin in the Pro Shop.
